Abstract
Have you ever wondered if replacing the physical and emotional aspects of our humanity with technology would be a better and more efficient alternative? Or if the effects of that replacement would overpower the goodness of the improvements? In this infographic, I aim to display informal and formal sources which give a detailed look at physical and emotional responses to cybernetics, as well as what sets our human intellect apart from AI mimicry. In exploring the novelette I am AIby Ai Jiang, viewers will see the downfall of proposed cybernetic incorporation via its negative physical effects. Alternatively, in the article from Metal Magazine on Neil Harbisson, the viewer will see the positive attributions that can be tied to technological enhancements and integrations in the body. These oppositional accounts are meant to help the reader define their view on cybernetics in an unbiased environment. After these pop-culture examples, the viewer will find scholarly information citing the values of emotional intelligence and ethical futuristic planning. Connecting this all together with my opinion, the reader can view the evidence presented and conclude their final thoughts on the initially proposed research question. Ultimately, the infographic medium is ideal for this information because it connects informal and formal information in a way that is approachable and appealing to a diverse range of audiences – bringing the ethical approach on AI to a wider crowd.
